Precinct 6 Councilor Linda Calla had one of those tough decisions that public officials have to make Tuesday night with the scheduling of two meetings at the same time: the regularly scheduled Council meeting and a Precinct 6 community meeting to discuss with residents the redevelopment of the Temple Tifereth Israel property. Not being able to be in two places at once, Calla attended the Precinct 6 meeting first and then traveled quickly over to the Cummings School where she was at her seat for the second half of K.R.T.’s Appraisal informational forum.
It was a good example of a councilor being dedicated to her position and Calla’s extensive background and work experience in real estate are assets when the discussion is about the value of homes and the housing market in today’s economy.
The Temple Tifereth Israel project (constructing a 43-unit residential apartment building) looks to be a beneficial one for residents and will beautify that area of Veterans Road. Councilor Calla is keeping abreast of the progress being made and watching out for the town’s best interests.
