Two other local events worth noting this weekend are the Pirate Entertainment Show, hosted by the 21st Century Afterschool Program, and the annual WCAT cookout.
The Pirate show event is scheduled for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Winthrop Landing at the new Town Pier. Both children (and adults) are urged to dress up as pirates for some old fashioned fun. Tickets are $10.00 for children and $12.00 for adults.
The WCAT cookout is 1 p.m. at Winthrop Lodge of Elks. Tickets are $10 for hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, and corn on the cob. The cookout is a nice opportunity to support our local cable television and say thank you to WCAT Executive Director Mike Cabral who does a superb job covering the Town Council and School Committee meetings and many other events for Winthrop cable television.
