Police Blotter 07-21-2011

Monday, July 11

9:47 a.m. – Caller states her vehicle was vandalized sometime between 7:30 p.m. (July 10) and 8 a.m. this morning. Damage was done to the driver’s side front of the vehicle. The vehicle was parked on Beal Street.

12:16 p.m. – Two calls of a ski mask found on the sidewalk on Pleasant Street. Officer reports he has the mask and will bring it in to the station.

5:10 p.m. – An individual came to the station to report losing her ATM card from a local bank. She was just at the ATM and retraced her steps thinking it might still be at the bank, but it was gone. She was advised to notify the bank.

5:11 p.m. – Report of a dead cat on Banks Street. Animal control officer notified and will handle the incident.

7:04 p.m. – A traffic citation issued to a motor vehicle operator on Revere Street.

7:07 p.m. – There was a report of a dead dog in a bag outside a residence on Hermon Street.

7:43 p.m. – A male brought a black purse into the station that he found outside on the bench, The purse contained two cards and $5.50. There was no ID inside the purse. Placed in the lost and found box.

10:54 p.m. – Officer reports sending a dozen or so individuals out of the basketball courts.

11:56 p.m. – Numerous directed patrols at the basketball courts by Winthrop Center. Large group and several cars sent out of the area. Officers request day shift contact someone to have lights turned off an earlier time to prevent late playing and congregating there. Officer clears a large group from the tennis courts. Another police officer cleared a group from Hannaford Park.

Tuesday, July 12

2:18 a.m. – Officer reports a man possibly sleeping in his vehicle on Veterans Road. Upon further investigation the individual has an active warrant. Officer will transport the individual; reports that additional charges to follow. Individual is placed under arrest.

7:05 a.m. – Call that a truck is blocking near the old Muffin Town. Officer reports that it is driver’s first time at the location and that traffic can get by. Officer will stand by and monitor situation for a few minutes.

4:12 p.m. – Caller reports group of youths loitering in the area of the Winthrop Senior Center. Officer reports area is clear.

7:09 p.m. – Male called to report disturbance coming from the backyard of a residence on Locust Street. Officers report a verbal argument only. They request Viking Taxi for a female. Officers will stand by until the cab arrives.

11 p.m. – Caller reports loud group in the tennis courts in Main Street. Officer sent two cars with eight individuals out of the area.

Wednesday, July 13

2:10 a.m. – A series of directed patrols are conducted on Walden Street (basketball courts), Cummings School, Revere Street, Public Landing and Winthrop Center/Woodside Avenue. The patrols are done over a period of approximately two hours.

11:11 a.m. – An individual reports to the police that there will be a group staying in a local church Wednesday night and they have permission to be there.

12:44 p.m. – E-911 relay call of house on fire on Bartlett Road and that there are children inside the house. Officers and Fire Department report Massport and several communities are responding. Chief Delehanty and Detail Officer Sean Delehanty also responded.

2:15 p.m. – A caller from Pleasant Street reports having chest pains/shortness of breath/

9:45 p.m. – There is a call concerning kids loitering in the area of the tennis courts on Main Street. Area is reported as clear.

10:35 p.m. – Officer reports moving 25-40 youths from the area of the basketball courts and the school.

Thursday, July 14

1:01 a.m. – There is a report of about 20 rowdy people yelling on Wave Way/Shore Drive. Individual reports they dispersed a bit when the rain came down heavily. They went in the direction of Pearl Avenue. Officer reports he is already on location and there were only about eight individuals and the State Police are already on the scene.

11:49 a.m. – Several calls of a motor vehicle accident on Revere Street at Kennedy Road. Officers, Fire Department, and G and J Towing notified. Both vehicles will be towed. No medical transports. One of the operators will be cited for a marked lane violation.

4:20 p.m. – An individual is placed under arrest for a narcotics violation.

11:30 p.m. – Officers report sending four kids on their way from the high school area.
