Winthrop police and their partners in the Revere-Winthrop-State Police drug task force concluded an investigation last week into the activities of Arthur Ciampa of 500 Governor’s Dr., apt. 28, in Winthrop on April 1, when they executed a search warrant and arrested Ciampa on charges of trafficking in cocaine over 28 grams, possession of class D (marijuana) with intent to sell, possession of a class B (Oxycodone) with intent to sell, distribution of marijuana and school zone violations.
“This was a joint investigation with our partners in the drug task force in Revere and the State Police,†explained Winthrop Police Chief Terence Delehanty. “It was a good arrest and proof that our partnership with these other agencies are a valuable asset in eliminating drugs from our neighborhoods.â€
Officers conducting the search warrant seized cocaine in excess of 28 grams, marijuana that was packaged for distribution and oxycodone, along with $2,286 in US currency.
“ It should be noted that Ciampa has a lengthy criminal record including previous convictions for drug dealing,†said Chief Delehanty.
