Connors is double winner for boys track

Jake Connors won the high jump and the triple jump to highlight last week’s track meet for the Winthrop High boys against Gloucester.

Jake easily won the high jump with a top leap of 5-11 and then added a first place in the triple jump with a distance of 37-10.

Dan Sena also scored points in two events, taking first in the 400 meter intermediate hurdles in 66.3 and second in the 100 high hurdles in 18.3.

Taz Generazzo also made a significant contribution to the Winthrop score sheet with a first in the long jump with a leap of 16-11.75; a third in the triple jump with a distance of 35-1; and a second in the 100 meter dash in 11.4.

Other point scorers for Winthrop were Mark Jenkins with a third in the 400 in 57.6 and freshman Nick Floyd in the mile in 5:41.

Coach Pat McGee and her squad traveled to Beverly yesterday (Wednesday).
