Speaker of the House Robert DeLeo certainly deserves praises for the professionalism he showed in his proposal and support for the expanded gambling/casino bill that he announced last week. The ideas were well-thought out and it’s clear the Speaker understands the economic imperatives that form the basis for the bill.
Speaker DeLeo showed himself to be a true leader with a real vision of creating jobs for our residents and establishing new revenue streams that will be distributed to cities and towns.
The Speaker is clearly looking out for the best interests of the state and knows that a casino at Suffolk Downs would greatly impact the Town of Winthrop, which would need additional funds because of its close proximity to the casino.
