The third annual Battle of the Beach Softball Tournament was held this past weekend. The tourney, which is sponsored by Massport, consists of two divisions, 12 and Under and 14 and Under, and featured teams from across New England, New York, and New Jersey.
The U-14 Division was won by the Bridgewater Panthers from Bridgewater, N.J., while the U-12 Division was claimed by the Tewksbury Redman
The games were played on fields at Cellucci Field at the Ft. Banks School and at the high school/Veterans Field complex.
Members of the Winthrop 12 and Under team, which is coached by Dave Guffey and Jeanine Chen, are: Maura Lanza, Caroline McKinnon, Kristen Siscamanis, Jordan Diosi, Jenn Adamson, Polixani Tsiotis, Venessa Van Buskirk, Michelle LaSala, Kelly Swanson, Alex Fisher, Kayla Parisi, Hanna Rowe, and Alex Papanda.
